Not many markings - just stencilled "l spr m" & "16" seem to be various combinations for the lettering but couldnt tie down to a particular piece of ordnance!
Yes - interestingly enough it was with a WW1 Stick grenade box. They are longer and bigger (have same fittings, hinges, etc). I'm guessing that this one is for minenwerfer or something?

Dont think there was - its located in France, I just took some pictures. I dont recall seeing any other marking, stampings or stencelling other than in photo.
The "l spr m" seems to have a number of possible combinations...leichte....Sprengranate....minenwerfer....etc but I cant put any together to indicate a type of weapon.
