German WW2 batch numbers, help required.....

Hello everyone,

not sure if there is a specific answer to this one, but here goes anyway..

Does anyone have any information relating to the number of units produced per batch code for any given type of ammunition.

Let me explain a little further, the wing units on the SD2 (around which my interest lies) have a manufacturer code, inspectors stamp and another number (which I believe is a batch number). I am trying to find out any further information that may shed light onto just how many units made up a 'batch', before a new number was issued. ie... 33 to 34 for instance or 9 to 10 - one step up must signify an amount of units and its this figure I am trying to find.

I would also like to know if the quantaties produced by diffferent manufacturers differed, or were they bound by a set amount, (10,000? or 100,000? units per batch for instance)

It may help if anyone has information on batch numbers for other types of ammunition produced by the Germans.

Of course, I appreciate that different items may be produced in differing quantaties, but it may just give some guidelines about numbers involved.

Sorry to be extremely vague on this one, but maybe someone has some information on this..???

Kev, these figures are only given in the "Vorlufige technische Lieferbedingungen" (a document stating the technical details of an item, freely translated as "product requirements document").
Unfortunately these docs are extremely hard to find.
