German WW2 box ID?

I think this box has been identified here long ago, but could not find the thread. So, what it is? Dimensions are 115x155x340mm. Inside is plain with no supports or wear marks. There has been a paper label inside lid but it is totally removed. An ink WaA-stamp inside he box.

Could primary use have been something else and cartidge box only secondary? 300 rounds make it quite heavy and the carry arrangement is not too heavy duty.
Mine has neither any traces of labels outside.
