German ww2 Sea-Mine 'Gimble' ?

Got this in a recent trade with an old pal.
Im told it is the 'gimble' and fuzing mechanism?

Any of you boys elaborate more please.

The inside flip over,which i assume is for when the mine settles in the water?

NICE FIND WAFF....
....you have a very nice example of the AIRDROPPED MAGNETIC MINE SWITCH !!!!

The rubber discs are the giveaway - I believe a similar switch was used on the seamines but this was spring mounted

I was worried that it didnt fit in the collection but as now its confirmed air-dropped then a keeper it is!
