Hello,
Found entries in the web for these glass grenades but three origins are mentionned (???), german, austrian or french.
Does anyone know what country really made these grenades (filled black powder) ?
Hallo @MINENAZ16,
your foto looks like the Handgrenades from "Burg Forchenstein" in Austria. They have a huge collection. There are some very interesting research articles available in german language. One. by Dr.Juergen Lewrenz, 2013, "Die dunkle Seite des Glases""(The dark sides of glas), with an extensive bibliography. By the way, in the Middle Ages many european countries apparently produced glasgrenades like these. They were cheap and easy to make. They made a big bang but the glas mostly shattered in too small pieces.
Regards,
Bellifortis.
