Hi, recently picked up a werftgranat with a makers mark stamped into the nose, sort of a backwards B with an R backed up to it, obviously put there at the foundry or armoury.
Has anyone encountered this logo before?
I know I have seen that exact logo (I think) before but cannot remember where.
Possibly Brennabor-Werke Gebr Reichstein. They were a (very) large bicycle manufacturer in the late-1800s thru early-1900s, venturing into motorcycles and automobiles in the early-1900s. Made a lot of bits and pieces for the war effort during WWII. A casting like the above would be very similar to the castings they used for the sprocket gears on their bicycles.
I remember seeing a logo similar to the above attributed to Brennabor, but have no way of verifying the info.
