After looking through manuals trying to find grenade keys for the Mills 36, I came across this in a manual Grenade Hand Clay Mk1 used for training to simulate a Mills Bomb but activated by lighting a fuze on the top. This was a factory made grenade as it refers to Lot numbers. Painted white with a 1/4 red band around the top and serrations around the middle of the grenade. The fuze is 2inches long and gives a five second delay. The box they come in are marked Trench Clay Grenades.
