grenade satchel

I expect some of the ex british ordnance guys may be familiar with this.what did it look like and what came in it?

This is an outer hessian trade pack for some unnamed satchels which have been made for the MOD by Her Majesty's Prison, code XDM, for delivery to CAD Longtown. Unless you have access to the Contract Number you would never know what type of satchels they are.

A good contender would be Satchel, L2 Grenade, Mk 1 for carrying adapters and cartridges for the L2 grenade in rifle role. The date of 1967 would be about right.
