This appears to hold two cases of .303 cartridges, likely the brownish coloured thin wood type.
I'll try to remove the paint on the labels and hope for threbest. I did not find a date stamped into it.
It is in the list of containers, but no details with the listing which was for the MK1 box.
Well it looks like this box worked out better than the 7.7 example :eek:
I managed to clean all but one damaged label.

BAD Amman was the UK base Ammunition Depot in Jordan pre 1948. The workdate indicates Kynoch manufacture of April 1963. I would therefore assume that this is export stock to the Kingdom of Jordan sometime in the 1960s as the Jordanians were still using Vickers MG at that time.

At a guess, BAD Amman would be at Zarqua, north east of the capital... (or what is left of it as they had a bit of a "whoopsie" recently! 'in Shallah! )
