Can anyone tell me who RO is on a .50 round

thanks
Rich

Hi Rich,

I got several similar rounds a few years back at one of the Dutch ECRA meetings, and the gentleman who sold it told me that they were made by BAE, and that the letters stood for Royal Ordnance.

Roger.

Many thanks Roger I have just been given some information regarding these rounds -

From Ron Fuchs' excellent 50BMG info guide:
RO 95 was made in the Netherlands by Eurometal under contract for British Aerospace Royal Ordnance division. The red over silver tip is a 606gr M20 APIT bullet. They made both APIT and API rds with this headstamp. Berdan primed.

many thanks and did you get my email about the list of .303 for Bisley

cheers
Richard.

Hi Richard,

Interesting info, thanks. I also got some plain tipped ones which I was told were ball, so they obviously made a fair few.

No, did not get the e-mail, please re-send.

Regards,
Roger.

email re-sent I will have one of the .50 ball rounds if you have 1 spare

thanks and see you on Saturday
Richard.
