Can anyone tell me anything about these cartridges, the blue and red ones have the military crows foot and have a lead ball in. The ones with a goose on I think are russian. Are these very old?
Hi Liam,
The ones with the broad arrow on are for Home Guard use and the plastic ones date from the 1980's. I don't think the Russian ones are even that old.
Cheers
Gary
Thanks for the info fellas, are they worth anything as I was wandering whether to keep a couple and sell rest on to buy other bits for my collection. I'm not really into shotgun cartridges but I got them when I was given a friends collection. I've got a section 1 collection on my fac.
some broad arrow cases were loaded with SG size shot and these are not Section 1. You must look at the wad in the top to see what they have in them. Sorry if I'm telling you something you know but here we like to be safer than sorry.
You will normally see a round card top with a hole in the middle with the top off the ball poking through or if it has a solid card it will say what is inside the case, Please PM if you want to swap these shotgun cartridges for small arms ammunition I have 100's of spare rounds
