Hi all,
I am looking for some info that can help explain how a 3.7 inch AA gun could be quickly and easily disabled by removal of a small part. Not by any explosive or incendiary means, it was mentioned in a 2nd world war diary that the guns were put out of action by means of removing a small part from under the nose of guards. Can anyone help me with some info ?
Best regards Weasel.

The firing pin?

Regards, DJH

Would that be an easy and pretty u noticeable thing to achieve on one of these guns. Not a weapon I have any documents on or have a chance to look at close up.

Hi Weasel,

Apparently there is a small lever on the firing lock which you flick up and then use that to turn the pin... 90 anti clockwise so it can be removed.

So yes, it looks like its possible to disable the gun by simply removing a small part.

Cheers

Gary
