help please

hey guys.

i have a suffocating grenade bertrand model 1915.it is immaculate. but missing the glass and gas obviously. i cannot see any for sale on the internet so i believe it is quite rare and just wondered how valuable it is. any ideas..

Hi, some photos would help here please.

The bertrand grenades have been copied extensively over the years, so much so even the grenade experts (I am not one) struggle to work out a real one from a reproduction one. Dugup sell them for 24.99.

I agree. At one stage I owned the Bertrand that DugUp used as the model for their repro. The previous owned had lent it to them. Actually, he only lent them one segment and their repros were made from a single cast, used many times.

Last year I bought an original in good condition but with new binding wire. It's much cleaner and 'sharper' than the repros. I've never seen one with an original glass ball.
