Hello.
Somebody can help with diagramm and nomenclature of 114mm (4,5 inch) UK pre 2ww projectile filling with lyddite??
Projectile filling-black powder on top, then probably picric acide powder, then lyddite.
Projectile probably navy or coast artillery??
H'mm, my understanding is that 4.5 (actually 4.45 (113mm)) entered RN service in 1938 (and remains the RN's standard calibre), was used by Army AA in fixed positions in WW2 and also some AA/CA use. Lyddite doesn't seem very likely for this service entry date.
4.5-in field gun was a 1930s design, most unlikely to have Lyddite filled shells. 4.5-in How (1910) would have had Lyddite fill for at least some ammo Mks.
