Picked this up today can anyone give me any info about this projectile.

There isn't any writing on the base? Since it is a separate loading or bag loaded style, I know that 12Pdr projectiles are of this design with rotating band close to the base.

Looks like a 25pr AP shot.

I have had a good look for any markings but there are non.

my 25pr shot is nearer 9in long and has a different band. 12pr shot is about 8.5in.

Well, that will shurely not be the search for the holy grail amongst shellcases. It's about the most common shellcase encountered.
