I presume you need a thread cutter to remove the remainer of the fuze
thread which is softer material than the gren body. Finding the correct
thread cutter tap will probably be the hardest.
Make sure that the body and remainer of the fuze do not contain any
explosive substance before you start this work.
Have had success with EZ-outs. Wrap grenade body with shop towell to keep from scuffing grenade body, vice it up, insert eZ-out and screw it out...Dano
Hi dano I have just tried EZ outs it has got most of the remaining fuse out:wink:but the threads are blocked.:tinysmile_cry_t3: does anyone know the tap size is???
Soak threads that are showing with high quality rust penetrant, let soak overnight. They make a wire brush drill attachment thar is pointed at end and gets bigger as it gets away from poing. Attach that to your drill/dremel and remaining crust should clean out of threads. Works for me. Another alternative would be a thread chaser if the correct size can be found. Now that's the ticket......Dano
Hi Dano i have managed to clear the threads now i heated the top with a blow lamp and the threads melted out and it did not damage the grenade!! i just need a fuse now!!
