The brass nose does not appear to unscrew and I'll get the rest asap. I think J & FP is J & F Pool Ltd, Hayle, Cornwall, UK who appear to have been a small munitions manufacturer making mortar bombs from google research. I know nothing about them but guessing its not one of them?
It is just over 3" with the brass base screwed on and just under 3" with it removed. It is about 7" in height.
Anti-tank round for the 3" Smith gun. Replace the brass "nose" with tail fins, and reverse the "plug" held in by the brass ring. Have a look through this previous thread:
