Here's an interesting one for you guys....!

I'm sure the intention of this thread was for a 'bit of a laugh', however members on here are extremely helpful and take research seriously.
I know nothing about these but have been following the thread to hopefully learn something new........well I guess in some strange way I have.

Yep, me too... Feel bloody awful about it now, was only a weekend smiler, I've have also had lots of 'genuine' help too and as a newbie didn't fully appreciate the seriousness of it all yet. Will save such future posts for April 1st perhaps...

Well - at least I was right!
I can see the intent was harmless in itself - but as stated people take this interest seriously (& with good reason from a certain point of view).
Maybe think a bit next time & look at the replies & those providing them & make a decision as to how long to let people need to be led along.
Myself (& yes this is hindsight) I would have run a thread on this on the fact of it as an old school project - interesting enough to some in its own right maybe?

following on from hicky1300 comment above......I must admit that when I read that this was done by a 15year old as a school project I was mightily impressed. There was clearly a lot of thought and work put into it. I wonder how many schools would allow such a thing today?

Steve rb, dont beat yourself up too much about this, we all like a laugh, perhaps you just let it run a little too long, before letting on the truth........hindsights a wonderful thing.

regards Kev

All good points, with other hobbies I'm used to forums attracting thousands of views pretty quickly so wasn't really aware I'd left things run, but yep, hindsight!

and yes, was really proud of what I'd done, got a full set of drawings somewhere, I'll dig them out and post them too
