Hi Guys, It's that time of year again and Heritage Open Days are coming around on the 11th and 12th of september. Loads of places to visit that are not normally open to the publc and all free too ! follow this link to check your area and use the table on the right to search for military or maritime or whatever you like. http://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/directory

This year, the Heritage Open Days have been extended; starting Thursday 9th Sept, running through to and including Sunday 12th Sept, so 4 whole days of poking around interesting places!

I have previously done the Aldershot Military Town Guided Walk, which included some usually out of bounds places and Henley Fort at Guildford. Plus some girly/arty places I got dragged to but which were also interesting too.

This year a visit to some of the navel sites in Gosport, inc. Fort Rowner, normally locked away within HMS Sultan, is favourite.

Cheers
Bannerman
