Any one able to identify this container for a friend of mine? Cheers Gary
 
Hi Hangarman,

it is a Wehrmacht field kitchen storage tube for spices. The text reads "Hinterwagen Gewrz" which translates into "spices to be stored into the rear cart" of the field kitchen. Just do a Google Image search for "Wehrmacht Feldkche" :tinysmile_twink_t2:

Thanks Alpini, I did a google search and came up with a spice container bit thought it was a literal translation and must have been an ordnance container of some description. How wrong could I have been!! Thanks for your help. Cheeers Hangarman
