Hi there,

I'm trying to track down any examples for 20mm crates used by RAF groundcrew (Armourers) during WWII.

So far, these examples are the closest I've got. It looks like it's dated 1954 but I could be very much mistaken.

Is anyone able to confirm whether the same design crates were used in WWII?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

These boxes are post war but i believe similar one were used in WW2.
The belts were usually made up in full lengths 100-200rd etc prior to taking to the aircraft loading point.
Ive seen pics of boxes similar to the US 200rd .50cal case as the type for taking to the aircraft.
