Can anyone shed any light about this German she'll with what looks like a Turkish fuse . Dated 1916 .

The wording in German I think reads PATRONFNFABRIK KARLSRUHE 1916. 21 .

yes it's a german 75x278R for Krupp field guns made for Turkey. You will find several threads about this ammunition with the search.

The first word reads "PATRONENFABRIK" (Cartridge Factory)
