Here in the St Louis region, we had a sort of industrial surplus chain called Hoods. You could find anything from car parts, home repair, clothing, even some cool surplus from time to time.
The one in Alton Illinois had an Honest John out front back in the 80's. They wanted $200 for it. I begged my father to buy it and put it away. was in great shape. Couldn't talk him into it.
