I thought this was going to be easy, but I can't get any ID on this case...

I bought this a while ago and it was sold to me as a Russian 105 x 695 case. However, I can't find anything about this or the gun, and I suspect this isn't the right calibre :tinysmile_eyebrow_t. The length is 695mm and the rim diameter 146 or 147mm.

Could someone help me ID this case? What are the markings and their signification? The case is made of brass but as shown the primer isn't and unfortunately completely corroded. The case is spent and totaly inert.

What gun was (or still is) firing this?

What do the projectiles look like?

And, will I be so lucky as to find a member who has a projo and is willing to part with it? (of course not for free, in this case just pm me ).

Thanks!

The closest listed in Robert Hawkinson's artillery case dimension list would be the 100 x 695R. This case is for The D10 gun used in the T-55 tank (and other vehicles). Other members may be able to post some photos of projectiles, and more information on the markings.

Thanks Falcon, you are right it's definately a 100 x 695R. I didn't even look up the 100mm Hawkinson's list because the case mouth is closer to 102mm but surely it was deformed at some point.

Anybody could tell me what origin and what the markings mean? Russian or else?

And what are the odds to find a matching projo?

Here a picture with the APDS and HEAT projectiles. I think you make a cgoood chance for the APDS, it's more common than the HEAT.
