ID a Greek Royal Navy 40mm shell from the bottom of the sea.

Post the inside diameter of the case mouth, the case length and the rim diameter (in mm). This should make identification easier.

Also, do you have a BRASS wire brush? This can be used to clean the green corrosion off the case without causing any damage. It has to be a brass brush though, steel will damage the case.
 
Looks like a 40 x 157 M/22 Swedish Navy case.
I could be wrong though, not quite my speciality.

That B stamp looks like a Bofors B'n'arrow stamp. The measurements would help a lot... At first glance I thought it might be a 47x185 or something like that.
