I can't make out the model number of this one. The top of screw has just a broad arrow and no number. This one was obviously made in 1903.

Hi Alex,

I could be wrong but it seems the practice at the time was only to stamp the MK and not the number.................

Examples are:

1) British No 56 Mk IV fuses - only ever marked "IV"
2) British No 63 Mk I fuses - only ever marked "I"
3) British No 60 Mk I & II fuses - only ever marked "I" (ie like in your photo) and "II"

Having stated the above, I have examples of conversions where the No is stamped in addition to the MK (ie "60c) - {search BOCN on some of my posts on this}

I also have from memory a No 63 which was stamped on top and the later No 65s all appear to be stamped on the top nut.

Hope this helps!

Cheers
Drew

Drew, I recall the converted ones and wondered back then already why there was no designation of the initial model.
Thanks for clearing it up.
