ive just bought some 303 cartridges with the headstamp 1944 D 1Z they have struck primers.
any information would be appreciated i do not collect small arms they were in a job lot.

This is a .303 round made in 1944 by Defence Industries Ltd.,
Canadian Industries Ltd, Park Avenue Plant, Montreal, Canada. The "Z"
indicates that it used a nitrocellulose powder instead of cordite.
