ID requested for 57mm PROJECTILE

This projectile is 55mm across the base and 215mm long.
Inert, it is for sale on a local auction site.
There is a suggestion that it is Japanese. (Therefore presumably for the 57x121R tank or aircraft gun).
The space left after driving band removal seems rather shallow...

Hi Charley ,
Some of the early nordenfeldt 6prs had a brass driving band, about as thick as the case wall.It could actually spin on the projectile if loose.
Also it was in the same profile style (wavy) as the gap on your shell.
I used to have one ,if i can find any pics i'll post.

Jap 57mm projectiles from WWII are much shorter than the one in the photo.
