I've been sent (attached) photo asking for info on u/k projectile. From the 'Swan Vesta' box I would guess that the projectile dia is <40mm, poss approx 37mm. Am therefore thinking it could be a 1.5 pdr of some sort.

No details of any body markings provided - have requested.

Any ideas?

I've enhanced and cropped the photo which has revealed that it's 1939 vintage, but unfortunately the base fuze number is not legible.

Its a 2lb practice flathead shot with tracer for use on short or restricted ranges where reduced penetration without ricochet is required

Great stuff Spotter, much appreciated. Have now been able to locate a prior thread from 2007 with more detail. http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threads/3519-2lb-Flat-Head-Shot
