Identification help please ?

Hi, can anyone help identify this projectile please ? It's solid metal and weighs three and a half pounds. It's 140mm long with a diameter of 45 or 46mm. The bottom end (blunt bit !) is completely flat, no holes or indents at all. No writing or markings on it all. There are 2 slightly raised rings, as in the photo. The metal is pitted as if it is of some age, or has been in soil for some period.

Hope someone can help, thanks.

I would add to Rogers ident. if the base is flat ie no tracer fixing ite possibley Land Service. based on all the Navy ones I've seen have tracer fittings and all the LS ones I've seen have plain bases.
