I am quite quite puzzled by this one and i hope you can solve it.

It is the base of an HE (lyddite) shell, QF 12 & 14 Pr, Mk IV NT (Night Tracer). Tracer made by E Showell and Sons, Birmingham.
 
Hello,
A british shell. I'm sure everything is written on the base. Ask your contact to clean the base and make good pictures (I can see "QF" "PR" Mk "IV")

Snufkin is right, look at the bulge on the inside and the base, it all add up
