Hello,

This item was found in the Netherlands. It's overall length is 43.4 mm, the "head" is 22.8 mm. The greatest diameter is 25.6 mm, the diameter of the top is 13.5 mm, the diameter of the "stem" is 15.7 mm. It seems to be partly filled with lead.

any ideas?

regards,

alfred

At first view I thought like Al'saad, but I don't see thread for fixing it on a mortar shell !!!

Not a Fuze but part of a fuze .Top part from an m48 type/style fuze..see attatched picture

It would be used on any projectile from 75mm to 280mm where ground impact is desired, so nose fuzed High Explosive and chemical rounds, such as WP, Mustard Gas, GB, VX, etc. for Guns and Howitzers, and the 4.2 inch mortar post WWII projos.
