Hi
I'm posting this here in hope sombody may be able to help or point me in the right direction

The cannon is made by
Bailey Pegg & Co
31 1/2" Long
Bore 1 3/4"

Looking at the crown on the barrel it is made in the peroid of Queen Victoria 1837 - 1901

I assumed (Dangerous thing to do) it was a signal gun but on searching other sites it may be an insurance cannon that Loyds requiered merchant ships to carry

When did Loyds Drop that requierment?
I will try to attach some photos
Many thanks in advance
Cheers
