Hi All,
I aquired this item years ago in a box of other stuff and would like to know a bit more about it, have not seen anything that looks like it before but there again these are not my area of knowledge. It would appear to have had a screw on lid at some point and been electronically fired and is empty and burnt out. Can anyone help with a drawing or more info if possible please.
Best regards Weasel.

I think it's a British Naval issue smoke generator used for fire fighting training aboard ships etc. I have two friction operated examples, I think they are N4 and N5, there are pics on site but I cannot seem to find them ! I seem to remember reading in Janes Infantry Weapons they produce low toxic smoke to be used in confined spaces. I'm sure you know that the coloured bands denote blue for practice and light green for smoke producing. Also used by the Army and RAF. Hope this helps, Tony.

Hi Roller,
Thank you for that, i will have a dig around for the pictures of the friction ignited ones so i can have a look. It was not an item i had come accross before so had no idea of usage, very interesting.
Best regards Weasel.
