Initiating Cart tin.

Hi chaps any ideas on this? Couldnt see this in Rickoshaes Large handbook so whats it for please. Thanks Tony.

Either engine starter cart tin, but more likely ejection seat cart tin

12K/1286 looks very much like an RAF partnumber.

Yep that is a stores section and reference number

It's for a set of ejector seat cartridges. Originally had white nylon disc with 3 different size holes for the cartridges and various spacers / packers to support and protect the cartridges. The cartridges turn up occasionally, rimmed, made from solid brass.

Hi ,

The tin is very similar to the ones used for the Canberra starter cartridges , though they are a bit longer.
Same style and stencilling.
