First published in 1982 and 1984 respectively. Although these were written near the end of the Cold War they are still very much relevant to today now that Putin's Russia is resurgent and now that China is taking a place on the world stage that is in keeping with its size. They explain why Communist regimes can never be trusted and why at some point in the future, when they feel powerful enough, Russia and/or China are likely to want to free us from `capitalist exploitation'. In the interests of peaceful co-existence I hope they do not. Suvarov (not his real name) has also written `The liberators' and `Inside the aquarium' which I am yet to read.
