Slightly luckier than the British POWs who were sent to work at a factory on the outskirts of.....Hiroshima. Most survived though.

Another interesting story is that of Tsutomu Yamaguchi.

He was in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki on the days the atomic bombs were dropped. He survived and lived to the age of 93.
