Something a little different - and smaller than a Tallboy, or Grand Slam or whatever.

These were taken in Port Moresby, New Guinea, in 1943. They are wrapping wire and steel rod around 100lb and 500lb general purpose bombs to enhance their anti-personnel effect.

Very interesting photographs , The Japanese used nasty tactics too , so its nice that 2 can play that game !

I notice barbed wire being used!, wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of that.

The back of the photo says that the barbed wire wasn't effective enough, they gave it up for the steel rods.
