Iraqi homemade AT grenade

A new AT grenade has lately been publicized by Iraqi insurgents, they compare it to the Russian RKG3 AT grenade and claim it will take it's place in the battlefield.

The interesting point is the impact system, based on a band that pops off at impact with the target, releasing the lever that enables the spring striker to hit ... etc... - of course there is no delay element in the system.

As the Russian grenade has a hollow charge, trying to compare the results of this homemade grenade to the RKG3 is of course short of a fantasy.

Good pictures. I can't imagine carrying these around without premature detonation yet alone trying to hit a moving target successfully with one of these.
