Is this a 13x96B Hotchkiss?

This case is headstamped with VE, D and 26. So it is French, dated 1926. I am not sure what the D means. It measures 13x96.6mm with a slightly belted rim of 22.3 mm. Is this a Hotchkiss 13x96B case? What was it used for (AA?)?

There was a 13x96mm Exp. it's likely the belted version of it. I've noticed the same thing with other French experimentals. It's a neat case that I didn't know existed. I guess I can add that to my wish list...............

The 13,2x96 Hotchkiss short is a different case, it is not belted and 13,2 mm i.s.o. 13 mm. I have some 13,2x96 Hotchkiss short cases from France and Belgium. I have had 3 French cases, all manufactured by VE and dated 1936 and 1939. My Belgium case is FN made and dated 1937. As imaokie2000, I was pleased this week to add several unknows to my collection at the same time (also 2 experimentel USA .50 .30 HV rounds).
