Is this a cleaning rod ?

Wooden rod with brass end. Total length: 2955 mm

Brass section: 155 mm x 41 mm

Marking : C & S (Broad Arrow) 1942

My thoughts are that it may be a cleaning rod for a 25 pounder ?

PS Just had a response from a local friend. He thinks it could be for a 4 " or 4.5 " cleaning rod.

Hi Andy, yes a Commonwealth style stave but too long for 25 pdr. That is an end section for a long gun, your friend might be correct.
