Another pair . The one on the left is a homemade one for the Lee Enfield cup launcher & the other one is cast with the letters USA . This was , apparently , a Jewish joke as it is short for Unzere Shtikle Arbeit which is Yiddish for Our Piece of Work . I like that !

These are all great images of seldom/if at all seen grenades Mike, thank you for taking the time to put these on site...

I like the cup discharger grenade, it is made from a Barclay Perkins beer tin. I googled the company name and found reference to a Barclay Perkins tin selling in auction that was described as 7cm diameter. This would be a bit big for a captured British cup discharger, so I wonder if the can is either a smaller diameter, or if it was intended to be used in a home made cup discharger with a 7cm bore?

I think the can was used to transport and hide the USA grenade as shown, I don't think it was a discharger grenade.

Some more photos of the USA grenades and the launchers that go with them.

Recce . The one in the middle is the can for the USA grenade . The one on the left made out of the beer can is a grenade for launching from a home made launcher using the base of a standard British one . If you look carefully , you can see it has a reinforced base . Thanks all ! Mike.

As far as improvisation is concerned in GOD's land, this doesn't suprise me in the least. After British troops left they developed the STEN on their own machinery and used brass lip stick cases for brass casings for their rifle ammo. They also used Enfields, Mill's, and even old German Mausers (98Ks). From other sources, it seems that a small minority of British troops might have even cached some weapons for them. Also, the communist/marxists led the Nicaraguan military had the Cubans send grenades to them in Tomato cans. By the way each fuse for their F1s, RG-42s, and the RGD-5s, were packed seperatley inside the same can. Something interesting to note here is that each fuse and on the detonater itself had a numerical designation of 0-4. These were seconds for the delay.

My apology Siegfreid for somewhat getting a little off course here. Just FWIW.
