Once again, I have to challenge your Etzel ID. Although these might be Etzel members, there is a greater chance they were from Haganah. Where did all the Etzel identifications come from?
Jeez ! What do you want , a duel ? These came from an Israeli collector who lives in Tel Aviv . He has the best collection of Israeli grenades in the WHOLE WORLD . These pictures are of EZEL fighters in 1948 . Although part of the ZAHAL group , they considered themselves as organized apart .
Just making a point. And that point is that the ID might or might not be correct, but that perhaps more info could be provided. I was an Israeli collector who lived near Haifa, so that bit doesn't necessarily impart automatic correctness. Perhaps you could ask your source for the info or ask him to post on the site. If there is a language problem I would be happy to help.
OK , no problem . I'll ask him if he wants to join . Just bear in mind I'm not trying to write a history of the Israeli battles for independence , only supplying pictures for grenade collectors that may prove useful to them if they come across unknown items that are similar . The text I give with them is just what I've been told by way of background . No hard feelings & thank. Mike.
None here. Since I don't know much about the grenades either, I'm focusing on the historic bit, and I'm just trying to clear it with my own knowledge. I hope the good doctor will join.
