Italian 37

Say, can anyone identify a 37mm (I think I measured it at that) shell. On the base is stamped L35, UTAN Firenze in a circle with date 31/7/38. Brought back from the desert by my uncle of the Royal Aus Engineers.

What is the case length & style (rimmed or rimless) has it got a projectile, if so what style (AP,HE)?

It sound Iti, but there are a few types?

The cartridge is 23cm long and is "rimless" though the base protudes slightly from the cartridge case. There is no projectile attached.

Day Strach,

The cart case you have is from the 37 x 232 Italian AA gun.

Used during WWII, let me know if you need any more info!
