Hey Waff,

The case is purely Italian, it bears no marks whatsoever to show any wehrmacht or luftwaffe "involvement". I cannot comment on the projectile, but, apart from looking like a repaint, it has a distinct Italian look to it.
All that said however, most (iff not all) 2 cm Solothurn (20 x138/B) was interchangeable, so it is very possible that Italian stock may have been used by the Germans, especially after Germany taking over control in Italy.

greetz,

Menno.

Hey Waff,

I've tried looking up what the projo might be,the best I can come up with at the 'mo is:
Finnish HE-T, selfdestruct.

The best indication being the inner tracer tube and the bourrelet.

meassurement should be:
total length : 84 mm
length beneath drivingband: 19 mm
lenght from underside drivingband: 65 mm

greetz,

Menno.

Thank you once again Menno. :)
It will be going on the shelf in the collection room then.

2 cm

I just thought you might like to see this picture of me firing a 2cm Solothurn. We were using the exact same Finnish ammo that you have the projectiles for. It was extremely accurate for breaking rocks at 1200 metres!

Note the ejected case in mid air.
