Japanese 6.5 ammo Can

Hi,

This is a recent acquisition and hoping that forum members can assist with a positive ID.

The can comprises a total of 24 clips of Japanese 6.5mm ammunition.

The can is divided into segments which each hold 3 x clips.

My educated guess as for it's oringinal intended use is for the Japanese Type 11 machine gun. As some of you will know the Type 11 had a 'unique' hopper feed system, which accepted a total of six clips into the hopper. Therefore the complete carrying capacity of th can would provide for four complete reloads.

Any opinions either for or to the contrary are welcome.

thanks for looking,
Peter.
