A very nice recent acquisition, a complete Japanese Type99 no.1 20mm Round.
H/S 111-1 y 20.
Though the projectile has been extensively polished( I gather to remove corrosion) it still has signs of black paint near the driving band, indicating it is a Practice Ball round.
The only 'marking' on the projectile is the small one pictured.
Is this a legit marking, seems to be stamped in, though very small(2mm high).
I can't find any reference to stamped markings on these projectiles, also what does it mean if legit?

Hi Bob,

Somewhat a little hard to read the kanji character - perhaps the Maizuro Arsenal? (wild guess)

(Robert or Olaf would probably have a better idea).

Cheers
