1941, a large convoy of Allied cargo ships loses its aircraft protection and must fend off the enemy on their own https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27724113/. A very good Norwegian take on the situation, it says in the beginning that it is based on true events. The actual ship used in this movie is an 1911 built coaler really used in IWW and IIWW convoys.
Almost forgot, watch it if you want to see how a 20mm Oerlikon gun works.
