Hi Waffy,
SG is quite correct, you'll need an AZ23/28 fuze which, as far as can tell is identical in appearance externally to the AZ23 you have on that projectile. I think the AZ23 was used in lower velocity projectiles...heres a pic.
Its still a gorgeous round waffy....Im pretty sure they're my favs in my collection
Rich
Well, as it turns out, the KWK43 HE was one of the very first rounds I purchased..and wasn't aware of the significance of the AZ23/28 fuze at the time. (ignorance is a theme I'm still fighting with)
I have read several times that its quite rare, but I really can't comment...SG, whats you're view?
When you used to see them for sale on that auction site they went for big money.
The other thing I have noticed over the years is that the majority of 8,8cm sprgr projectiles are sold with the AZ 23 so at the very least the AZ 23/28 is a harder fuse to find.
Waff
Is your projectile the Sprgr or the Sprgr 43 ?
Im glad you boys know that as im new to this KwK43 caper!
Ive now got the two rounds that were bought at the last Malvern show.I think they both be getting some TLC this Sunday after the Leeds show.
I shall keep you informed.
again,cheers chaps.
Make sure you post some pics Waffy...they should be two attractive rounds when you're done..
...course now all you need is a matching set of Kwk36's and Kwk42's ;o)
