Large cannonball fragment

Grenadier

Well-Known Member
Hi,
The weight of the large one is ab. 30 kilos, i.e. it weighted ab. 100 kg when it was in one piece. The thickness of the walls is approximately 75 mm.; diameter ~305 mm. I'm wondering what cannonball it could be... Help if you know anything about these.

Shell Fragment;

Sir:
The shell wall thickness puts it in a mortar or larger caliber smoothbore class. Those smaller balls on top are not part of that fragment.
